MARCH MAPLE MADNESS - A ‘tap your senses’ event!
The Bed & Breakfasts Inn Mount Washington Valley (BBIMWV) will be hosting their third annual March Maple Madness Tour on Saturday and Sunday, March 25th and 26th and you won’t want to miss it! This weekend of fun is created for visitors and local residents alike and offers elements of fun, education and tasty delights as you go from inn-to-inn.
Tickets are $15 per person and are valid for both Saturday and Sunday from11AM to 4PM at participating inns. Proceeds will benefit the BBIMWV Hospitality Scholarship Fund. With your ticket in hand, you will embark on a self-guided tour of local inns, sampling their maple specialties along the way. There will be a wealth of information about ‘sugaring’ at the maple sugar houses and at other ‘Maple Country Partners.’
In addition to the fun-filled, informative tour and samplings, March Maple Madness offers the more daring ticket holders the opportunity to compete for hundreds of dollars in prizes. Join in on an equal parts scavenger hunt, trivia game, and White Mountain photo competition. As you travel the tour route, you must seek answers to questions, gather objects and artifacts, as well as visit each participating Inn and Maple Country Partner. The ticket holder who, in the opinion of the panel of judges, best accomplishes every dictate, and so scores the most points, will win a grand prize. Valued at over $400, the prize package includes a $200 certificate good toward a two-night stay at any participating member of Bed & Breakfasts Inn Mount Washington Valley, a year’s supply of maple syrup, a dinner certificate for The Notchland Inn, a horse or carriage ride for two at The Farm By the River and a March Maple Madness basket filled with gifts contributed by the Inns and Maple Country Partners. The runner-up prizes are valued at over $200, including a dinner certificate from The Notchland Inn, a Maple surprise and a March Maple Madness gift basket. The official panel of judges has dubious qualifications but their opinion will be final.
The Inns taking part in the March Maple Madness tour include: Buttonwood Inn, Cabernet Inn, Covered Bridge House, The Cranmore Inn, The Farm by the River, Mt. Washington B&B, Nereledge Inn, The Notchland Inn, and Spruce Moose Lodge. Visitors staying at any of these locations the weekend of March 25th and 26th will be offered tickets to the March Maple Madness as part of their two night package, along with breakfast each day and additional enticements ranging from maple candy to a maple-themed 5 course dinner. Visitors and local residents may purchase tickets at any participating Inn the day of the event even without an overnight stay.
The Maple Country Partners participating will include Josiah Bartlett School Sugar House, Ravenwood Curio Shoppe and the White Mountain Cider Company Restaurant.
BBIMWV is a non-profit organization created by a group of local innkeepers. They recently expanded their mission to include a scholarship for a worthy student at Kennett High School pursuing a higher education in the hospitality field. The proceeds from this March Maple Madness event will benefit the Bed & Breakfasts Inn Mount Washington Valley Hospitality Scholarship.
