Ghosts n GoblinsGhosts n Goblins

Ghost & Goblin Event - Last Saturday in October

Even adults enjoy Halloween and the Bed & Breakfasts Inn Mount Washington Valley have brewed up the right potion.  The Ghost & Goblin Trail, Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 11AM - 4PM. The self-guided tour of participating inns ... each with their own ghost stories ... will offer ticket holders a sampling of seasonal treats prepared especially for the occasion.

The Ghost & Goblin Trail stretches throughout the Presidential Range of the White Mountains. Featured inns will open their doors to costumed characters, spirits in Halloween make-up, and street-clothed participants alike. Those “dressed for the occasion” automatically receive their treats and clues. Those in street clothes must earn their treat at every stop ... by first performing a task drawn from a bag o’ tricks. Revelers will also cast votes for their favorite treat & inn’s event decorations.

The Great Mystery Muddle of the White Mountains, a riddle and jumbled word contest, can test the skills of the most diligent detective. Tour inns will accompany their gastronomic goodie with a clue hidden within their tour booklet page. Properly interpret the clues and “de-jumble” the combinations, and take home the Grand prize. (Should more than one savvy sleuth unscramble the correct answer, the lucky winner will be chosen by random drawing.)  The grand prize valued at over $400 includes:

  • $200 certificate toward a two-night stay at any participating Bed and Breakfasts Inn Mt. Washington Valley
  • Dinner certificate for The Notchland Inn
  • Horse or carriage ride for two at the Farm by the River & Stables
  • Special treat bag chock-a-block full with fun prizes contributed by the Bed & Breakfasts Inn Mt Washington Valley and their Country Partners.

As the ticket holders judge the decorations and treats of the Inns, the Innkeepers will be judging the costumes & Halloween make-up of their guests. The person who wins Best Inn Spirit of the Day will receive a gift certificate good toward a 5-course dinner for two at the Notchland Inn, an $80 value.
All tickets for the public, costumed or not, are $20 and are available from participating inns until October 18th.

Each of the inns, are offering as part of their Ghost & Goblin Trail packages:

  • Tickets for the Ghost & Goblin Trail inn-to-inn tour during a two-night stay Halloween weekend package
  • Breakfast for two each day
  • A Booklet containing the collection of goodie recipes, the official map, bits of Halloween trivia, and the embedded clues to solve the Mystery Muddle.
