The Bed & Breakfasts Inn the Mt Washington Valley Association (BBInnsMWV), originally formed in the spring of 1991 by several Bed & Breakfast establishments throughout the Mount Washington Valley. The group, at that time was called The Open Door Bed & Breakfasts Inn the White Mountains, and was incorporated as a non-profit organization in the spring of 1997. We are a compilation of heart warming B&B's and Inns specializing in genuine hospitality rich in old fashioned New England charm, high standards of customer service, delicious breakfasts and the willingness to make anyone's visit to the Mount Washington Valley an experience to remember with a longing to return again and again.
Many of us came from very diverse fields such as Business Professionals, Engineering, Health Care, Education, Performing Arts and Food Service. Now, all of us have something very wonderful in common "Hospitality".
In 2006, BBInnsMWV proudly expanded their mission to include an annual hospitality scholarship for a worthy student at Kennett High School or Fryeburg Academy pursuing higher education in the hospitality field. The first scholarship awarded, was in the amount of $500. In 2008, the amount was raised to $750 and at present, the scholarship has grown to $1000.
The BBInnsMWV is a proud sponsor of Dollars for Scholars of Mount Washington Valley. With their assistance the scholarship is awarded to a worthy student fitting the criteria of hospitality. If the recipient of the scholarship attends a college affiliated with the Dollars for Scholars program, the scholarship is matched dollar for dollar.
How do we fund the scholarship? The BBInnsMWV Hospitality Scholarship is partially funded through proceeds generated from ticket sales for both the group's events, Ghost & Goblins trek for treats in the fall and March Maple Madness in the spring, a maple sugaring scavenger hunt, and generous donations from all of our BBInnsMWV members.
